Blood Donation success

I posted a few days ago about having difficulty in finding a blood drive as I was out of town during our community’s.

As I drove through “the big city” today, I stopped to see if they were really closed as the representative at the 1-800 number told me.

They weren’t! The national people have had this screwed up for years! They took me right away and my next donation in November at home will be within the time frame.

I was also able to talk to them about donating platelets, used mostly by cancer patients. A longer process and platelets have a short shelf life, so the need is constant. I definitely want to do this.

Yes, donating platelets definitely takes longer, but it is so important. Thank you for planning to do this.
