calendar board

Not a seperate bb but I include it on our calendar board. Each month I put up a large cut out tooth shape and we write the names of the students each month who lose a tooth. They each get a certificate to take home.
Then it also goes in our calendar books (from jmeacham's site.)

I think it would work as a bulletin board to make a year long graph and then you could compare each month - which month had the most; which had the least; did October or March have more, which month had none, etc.? great real life math activity!

I have in the past, but the last few years, I did a book instead. The kids loved to be added into the book, and it was a big hit in the book corner!

Do you have a smartboard? I made a tooth graph in the notebook software I could share.

yes, my tooth is on a 12x18 construction paper - tooth on one side and birthday cake and weather graph on the other
it's part of the Math their way program
center.edu/BLACKLINES/001-061/026.pdf cake is available too
they are posted across and above my chalkboard - we take down the month we need and complete it and put it back up. Mine are laminated so I can reuse them. Once they are back up we compare it to the former months.

ever put up a tooth bulletin board. I don't think
I've ever had very many kids losing teeth in Kindergarten,
I think I had more when I taught first grade.

Could you please tell me a little about this book you keep? I have no space and I think that would be a wonderful alternative to a BB or poster. Thanks!
