I am teaching homophones. I have the book Dear Deer by Gene Barretta. Does anyone else have any other suggestions that would be a great activity. This is for second grade.

I had my students list homophone pairs while I wrote them on the board. They made a book of homophones. They were to write the word, illustrate it, then use it in a sentence. On the facing page, they were to write the homophone pair and follow the same instruction. Hope that makes sense.

The King who Rained is another good book for homophones. then I have the kids make a similar book themselves.
