How many 2nd graders do you have in each classroom?

Do you have full-time paraprofessionals?

How many classrooms of 2nd grade in your school?

Thanks!

We have 3 second grade classes and no paras. I believe they have 22 or 23.

Typically we only have 2 with 25-28 in them and no paras. Once in a while we swing a para, but they would be shared between the classes. Last year we shared a para between 5 classes.

Iím retired but....

We had 3 classes, hovering around 25 each. Then there were usually push ins from special day class that could bump it up to 26 or 27 at various times of the day.

Rare to have a para. Usually meant you had a child who needed a babysitter due to some emotional issue.

We have 80 second graders split between 5 teachers-16 per class.

We have 2 paras. I usually have a para about 2 hours daily. If she is not pulled to cover a class or some other duty.

We thought they would move one of us to a different grade this year, but I think the first grade situation was so bad last year they opted to keep 5 small classes to try to catch this group up.

We have 3 sections of 2nd Grade and have 26-27 per class. I have a para two times a week for about an hour each visit.

Retired, but 28 students at all times in each of the 3 classrooms. As soon as one leaves, the admissions coordinator fills the spot with the next student on the list.

No full time paras.

Admins keep saying "Research shows there is no difference between 20-30 students." I don't think anyone asked the teachers how they feel about 28 vs. 20.

5 classes of 2nd graders

No paraprofessionals

Classes have anywhere from 19-26. We're performance-based, so the lower-performing classes have 19 and the higher ones have more.

I have 23 so I am probably on the low side for numbers compared to most of you; our school has 2 classes.

I have just been day dreaming about the year I had 14 and how we could get SO much done!

It's an usual year because we have so many students. Normally we have one class - last year I had 34 students with a part time para. It was crazy!!

We have four second grade classrooms . I have 24 students, the other rooms have 25.

Our budget got cut so we share paras. We do have two full time special ed Teachers that work with all grades, splitting time as needed.

Last year we each had 29 students per grade

I have a 1/2 blend with 16 2nd and 7 1st graders. There is one other 1/2 teacher with about the same numbers.

My IA -Instructional Assistant is with me 1 hour in the mornings for guided reading and 1 hour in afternoon for math.
