What is the earliest grade in your school/districts where students login to their own accounts on computers/Chromebooks?

Do they actually type in their username and password or do they have a badge or QR code to use to login?

Not my school, button my own kindergarten daughter does it at her school! She types in her own username/password, which is on a card for her.

In my building all second graders are expected to login to their own accounts with usernames and passwords. They do have the information on a card for them to use.

Our kindergarten and first graders have QR codes for Chromebooks (because their username is their complete email address and that would take forever). They do type username and passwords into iPads though.

When I taught second grade, they did it on their own. It took awhile at first but they learned quickly.

My first graders had to log into our ELA and Math programs. I put the info on the 2 sides of an index card and laminated them. I was able to change their ELA passwords to something easier, but not the math.

Our kindergarten and first-grade students use a QR code. 2nd and up logs in using their email address and password. I taught 2nd last year and it wasn't a problem at all.

Kinders in my school are logging themselves in right now. 9 digit username and 9 digit password which includes numbers and letters plus a period.

Next week my plan is to get thing info google accounts, which means typing an email address.

Kindergarten, unfortunately.

I hate it and it takes a long time for them to learn.

Students log themselves in, including in K. In K-2 (and sometimes 3rd, depending on the teacher), there is a sticker that stays on the chromebook that has the login information right on it. If there are kids who truly cannot do it for whatever reason, there are always kids next to them who are capable of getting them logged in quickly.

K-3 use Clever to login and QR codes

We are 1:1 in 4th and up and they all login themselves using emails and passwords.

Oklahoma CS standards say Kinder should begin to realize that you need your own username/password and begin to login with help. 1st continues this and the expectation is students should be logging into a device with a unique username/password to them by 2nd grade.

In my district, 2 elementary schools have their generic username/passwords turned off and all K-5th grade students use a unique username/password. In my school we have a person that does not like this so students are allowed to use a unique username/password. And then principal complains at the end of year when students in computer lab are searching inappropriate things and it canít be traced to a specific user . 3rd-5th use their own username/password on their Chromebooks.

Kindergarten and it is ridiculous. I teach second grade and itís hard for them.
Ou r logins are really long and involve th ear 7-digit student numbers.
