To me, if the parent is knowingly lieing in his claims against the curriculum company, they can choose to Sue him. If it's a matter of differing perceptions of reality, leave it alone.

In general, as a retired hs math teacher, I favor the problem solving, interactive math curricula. Students learn to think about math and end up with a much higher level of understanding which they are able to apply to new situations.

The fact that the man's son is struggling likely means that he lacks mathematical understanding, although it could be partially that teachers are still learning how to teach the new curriculum.
