I have been on Noom for about 4 months and have lost 20 pounds. You are free to eat anything but the app groups your food into 3 groups: green- healthiest, yellow- in between and red- least healthy. It analyzes the foods you log and tells you how much you need to eat in calories and if you've gone over. I eat almost anything, but make sure I have some fruits and vegetables every day. It is very convenient to use with the app on my phone. I weigh in every day and log in every meal. It also tracks your steps.

How much does the program cost? They advertise it as costing the same as "a pair of shoes", but that can be $500, !

I paid about 125.00$ for 4 months , I believe. I don't usually pay that much for shoes.

Another Noom question...

It is advertised as using psychology and small goals. How is this different from other programs? Iím seriously considering either Noom or Jumpstart MD in October.

DH is using it. It is very similar to Weight Watchers. Rather than in person meetings you have a "coach" and a team. You are encouraged to post your successes like weight loss, drinking more water or going for a long bike ride/run and your team is free to like and make comments, similar to FB.

I signed up for the free trial on noon. You have to give them your credit card number when you start the trial. After a week into the 1 month trial, I decided it didn’t have anything weightwatchers didn’t have and canceled. It was hard to find how to cancel. I googled it and followed the instructions on a YouTube video. After the time of the trial period was up, I saw a charge on my bank account for $129. I contacted them and they said I never canceled, even though the date I canceled was clearly noted on my profile page. They refused to give my money back—lesson learned. I went to weight watchers, which is half the cost (I only do online). I’ve lost 21 pounds in 10 weeks. I’m happy for those who have gotten good results, but just be sure you want to spend the money before you do the trial. They take 4 full months worth out of your account..

I have lost 25 lbs on Noom. It is based on 'volumetrics" or food density. It also stresses the psychology behind food, hunger, emotional baggage, and attitudes about body image. I consider it more of a lifestyle change than a diet. I recommend it. I did the first 4 months for $149. Then, I signed up for an additional year for $99.
