Words Their Way question

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello all,
My school just adopted Words Their Way spelling. We have not had any formal training. Basically, all I have is the three books of words.
I am wondering, how many word lists do a child work on per week? For example, do they only sort one group of words per week? It doesn't seem like they'd get very far over the year in spelling. How many different groups is necessary or ideal?

After pretesting your whole group, students do one lesson per week.

I had three groups each year.

They do one sort every week. And when your weeks get disrupted by a holiday or some other activity, it can be a royal pain.

Personally, I found it to be a useless program.

Doing the spelling inventory really helps you determine your grouping. When we did WTW I loved administering and analyzing those inventories!
