I just read a Buzz feed article about "Compliments You Still Think About". Iíve been quite blue lately so I thought a compliment feed on PT would help everyone remember nice things others have said.

Here's mine: Iím often complimented on my twinkling eyes. I love this, because I donít have to do anything but smile to make my eyes sparkle!

Do you have a compliment about yourself you'd like to share?

the mother of a student I had in my third grade class told me how her son described me as his teacher. He said I was the strictest, funniest teacher he ever had. I consider both of those adjectives as a compliment. He may not have meant it that way. But that is how I feel about his description.

A few people at church have really complimented me on my leadership. I am far from the typical extraverted leader and growing up, as a very shy person, would have never imagined that I could lead well.

It's amazing how when someone compliments you on an area you don't feel strong in, it gives you confidence and helps you become better.

fact that I do not look my age. I know it is mostly due to my fitness level, the way I walk, posture, flexibility. The other day, my nephew, who is 20 years my junior, took me to the eye doctor. When I came out, he was not in the waiting room. The woman who had been sitting next to him said, "Your husband left and forgot to take your purse." Ha ha. That was cute.

Yes! I agree with PEPteach!

“You look really fit.”

Several people have complimented my fitness lately. At first I thought it was a throwaway comment (I heard: You look really fit for an old lady.) I started this fitness journey because of my weight, but somewhere along the line the focus switched to balance/strength. I’ve decided if friends (and even strangers!) want to comment on my fitness, I will own it and appreciate it. I’m still 68 with terrible balance, but I’m very happy to be considered fit.

One of my former 1st grade students wrote me a note as an assignment in 5th grade. He told me he remembered how my classroom always smelled great. That made me feel that all the work involved in baking our own bread, cooking vegetable soup, making applesauce and pumpkin pie, and frying latkes, etc. was all worth it. I tried to come up with some yummy cooking activity at least once a month. Of course, this was back in the day when teachers were allowed some creativity and didn't have to stick to a script and be doing everything the same as everybody else on the team. There was a time when it was fun and kids were exposed to lots of experiences.

At my 10 year HS reunion (30 years ago) one of my classmates said that even though she didn't know me very well in school she remembered that I was kind and friendly to everyone.

Years ago, a family pulled their kids out of my school and the oldest sister said it was too bad that youngest sister wouldn't have Mrs. Bandmom since she was the best.

I wrote a hymn text (to an already familiar tune) and it was sung at church this past weekend. I got a lot of nice compliments on the powerfulness of it both in writing and after both services in person.

I enjoyed reading the others! This is a great thread!

2 compliments from the same person.
A new young principal had just started. He was in my room for my first formal evaluation using the Danielson model. He stayed an hour. On his way out he said ďI could stay in your classroom all day.Ē
Then at my evaluation meeting he told me that what he admired about me was that I always smiled and greeted everyone I passed in the hall no matter if it were a teacher, student, parent or custodian.
8 years later he said similar things during the speech he gave at my retirement.

My husband said how nice it was that i always made the bed

My eldest daughter told me she had a great childhood because of me. (All the places i took her and her sister to, all the fun activities, etc.)

Several students over the years told me they thought i was very both very nice and funny.

My kittens follow me around, sleep with me, get up when i do. I also tame the feral cats here. Animals compliment me by the love they receive and return. I get so much joy from my furry friends.

A student I had years ago had Tourettes and at the end of the year, his mom told me that he said I "always had his back". That meant so much to me.

I have really cool, light blue eyes. Iíve gotten compliments on them for 40 years, even from the hot 26 year old guy I teach with! 😂😉
