Take your DD to celebrate her birthday at a restaurant where the food looks like the best of Food Network, then eat every bite because it’s amazingly delicious.

Gorgeous! The upper left picture though, the sauce (I assume) on the bottom has a sheen that makes it look gelatinous, which isn't appetizing!

The only thing I think about with food that looks this good is how many times someone has personally touched each piece of the plate. I really don't want someone else playing with my food.

And then the price. You pay dearly for letting someone play with your food. Shouldn't they be paying us for letting them play with our food?

Not to mention that I gained weight looking at the pictures.

I love those food shows.

Those "art on a plate" restaurants are nice!

I would count that as a “totally worth it” meal. I love fancy food like that.

Kahluablast -I'm laughing out loud. That was my first thought, also! It makes me wonder how much the chef had to drink before his/her "creation"

Amiga, I'm so glad you enjoyed your dinner and time with your daughter.
So sorry you gained weight. I'm sure you will walk it off.

No kidding, kahlua! After watching so many food shows, I rarely eat out because I hate seeing what chefs really do to my food. The worst for me is how they practically stick their faces in the food, breathing all over it up close. Ewwww.

You know, violet said it best....it looks like a meal that was worth every pound. I'm sure you'll be back on the wagon soon and those pounds will disappear. I'd blame "water weight" as restaurant food always has tons of salt. You enjoyed yourself and that "feeds" your soul, which we all need to do more often.

That is a mighty pretty bunch of food pictures! I love seeing food like art.

I also always think about how the chefs on the shows I love to watch are plating up everything with their fingers and touching everything with fingers. And using rags to clean off plates when they are making them pretty at the end.

So pretty! I am glad you identified them because I was having trouble figuring some of them out.

And then there are the sweaty chefs... I watch a lot of cooking shows and I would be hard-pressed to eat any of the things some of those guys prepare because of the sweat dripping off of them. Yuk!

This made my day! Thanks, Haley!

The birthday dessert wasn’t on the menu, fabulous berry tart something. I don’t know what I did to make it look minuscule in the picture, because it was plenty for both of us.

What is that thing laying across the dessert?

It does look minuscule, but after you ate all the other food it may have felt like a lot no matter what the size

ZipLine got it! Like a Pirouette—only homemade, thinner, and more candyish (white chocolate) than cookieish.

oh! I've never seen one like that. It looked like a fondant candle or something.

I apparently managed to gain even more than you just by not having a working scale and attending several different orientations where I was fed morning and noon!
