Scoring for Pearson

Has anyone tried scoring for Pearson? I'm set to do some online scoring of 6th grade math testing, starting in May. Working my own hours at home during spring and summer ... it sounds like just the thing to bring in some income during the summer down time. Any experiences to share?

Just applied to be an on-line scorer

My son-in-law has been doing scoring at a Pearson center. Its too far for me to travel to the center, so I applied for online scoring. It took a year, but I'm set for my first project. Online, at my own hours, sounds a whole lot better than scoring at a center on an assigned shift.

I scored for them last year and now scoring again .The pearson office is very close to my home so I score in their center. It was fun last year and I'm looking forward to for this year's project. My project starts on 26 May.

I'm wondering how

they train you to do the online scoring. Is there some kind of online tutorial?
Is this scoring based on some kind of rubric, is it open-ended? I am interested, but there are no centers in CA.
Thanks for answering.

I am also interested in learning more about this. I would love to be able to make some extra $$ from home. Thanks for the help!

Pearson online scoring

This will be my first assignment for Pearson. For online scorers, there is a paid online course that must be completed. As for the particulars about the methods used for scoring, Pearson makes it very clear that scorers are not allowed to divulge these details.
