Superintendant's Pay Raise

Can you believe it? The local district has laid off teachers, laid off parapros, cut pay rates across the board, including cutting the daily rate for subs by 11 1/9 percent. Busing of students has been cut. Some students now ride three in a seat, with some having to sit on the floor. Kindergarten kids are bused only to or from school, not both. Secretarial positions have been slashed. There are no attendance secretaries to keep track of who is or isn't attending class.

THEN ... the school board just voted to amend the superintendant's contract to give him a 25% pay increase!

They offered that to our superintendent but he declined. I thought that said a lot about him. How could one accept that knowing what awful things he or she is causing to others. Not to mention how he will be seen in the community!

Wow, what a jerk, for taking such a HUGE raise, knowing what's happened to HIS/HER district. Sounds like someone who's in it just for the money...too bad.

Somehow I don't think this will go over well with the district employees, parents, and community.

The school board members may very well be serving their last terms!

That's disgusting (both physically and morally)...seating children on the floor of the bus. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
