Summer School?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Yesterday a summer school job came up on Jobulator. I did not take it.

So do you ever substitute teacher for summer school? Is there a big difference in the students, teachers, expectations? Or is summer school a big hassle for substitute teachers?

I will state there will be no air conditioning in any of the buildings. And I am only paid $75 for a full day. I have no idea what the rate of pay would be for summer school. I'm guessing less than $75.

Thanks for your advice.

Subbing summer school

I subbed summer school only once. There were only about 9 students in the class, and the other 2 teachers split the students and took them into their rooms, so I just ended up helping out in one room. The teacher was a first year teacher, first week on the job. She had no idea what she was doing and really didn't want me there watching her. That was the day that I found out that the job opening still listed on line - and I was waiting and hoping to get an interview for - was taken by her. Her daddy was a teacher in the building... wonder how she got that job?

years ago in the middle of summer I got a call from subfinder. Couldn't take it because I had a summer job at the time - but I have a friend who would get a full-time gig teaching summer school when our district could afford summer school. The hours and days were good that you could still enjoy your summer. She enjoyed it.
