Got a call from my old school. The p.e. teacher is apparently taking extended maternity leave. They need somebody for 3 weeks, beginning on the 14th. I love subbing in her classes. Not so sure about 3 weeks. I'm going in tomorrow to find out what's involved. It needs to be 15 days so that I can get the higher pay. Not doing it for $90 a day. I'll see what the principal says.

If it's not quite 15 days, give the teacher a call and ask if she'd consider staying out a bit longer so you can get the bump in pay.

I'm 71, subbing for 21-years, semi-retired, elementary only, returning on a limited basis (5-6 days per month). Don't take long-term anymore, let alone P.E. for Junior High and H.S. What was I thinking? Need to extra income to meet living expenses.
Best to you, mrsd5.

I'm 71 and only sub one day a week if that. And only if it's K or 1st and if I can enjoy myself.

I take in my own read alouds and ideas, etc.

I enjoy giving the students a "different" day - a break from the routine of so much formal activities and not enough creativity and play.

I also dress attractively, hair and make-up. It keeps me young and I love the compliments!!!

The older I get, the more I realize that one can never get too old for a compliment.
