The sun is trying to come out. The sea is gorgeous, dark and stormy, but I’m ready for a rain break. If you squint just right, you can even see 2 small islands in the distance that belong to Mexico; that tickles me enormously—I never tire of giggling, “I can see Mexico.”

Warm tootsies! Drinking a Moscow mule in the hot tub, looking out at snow is my new fave way to spend Thanksgiving morning!

The tall carrier has 3 pumpkin pies in it. The short one is holding a pecan pie. Shawn is saying, "You can have the pumpkins, I'll take the pecan."

Wreath

This is the wreath I made at a friend’s wreath making party. I would prefer a different bow, but DH really likes the red velvet bow, so I go with that Click image for larger version

Finally finished it :)

DS24, who is home for the holidays, gave me this 1000 piece puzzle 2 years ago. He knows I love The Sound of Music. ( I prefer 500, maybe 750)

I started it last Christmas. I worked on it this summer. There were WAY too many non-descript pieces about the same color .

It still has about 30% to go when I pulled it out Wed. I just finished it. I told him I just needed him here to inspire me .

Cows checking out the new puppy. I told DH we need a house with a view like this. He didn't go for it. Something about the more than hour one way commute.

Food and wine pairing at one of my happy places in Napa Valley. This was after a crab cake with Sauvignon Blanc and a Duck confit flatbread with Pinot Noir.

This one is a couple of weeks old - we were expecting to see a new tile floor when we returned from a cruise, but that didn't happen. The construction company paid for a hotel room for a few days, this was outside our room one night.

another use for an old comfortable shoe
Old 11-29-2019, 03:23 PM
  #23

My brother gardens a lot and wonders around his property fixing the woodland trail, messing with the stream, shoreline, etc. I tell you this to explain the odd shoe type. Anyway, he went out to the front covered porch to put his old shoes on and found that a squirrel had decided that the shoes were perfect for winter storage. It happened in one day.

So he brought the shoe in so his wife could admire the container of acorns, snapped a picture, and then they put the nuts in a small Amazon box and put them back outside where his shoes had been.

They are such hippies. But I was tickled about the acorns.

They don’t get food from the table, and very infrequent people food overall. However, it doesn’t stop them from gathering around when a bag rattles.
