Snow day Monday??

Getting 8-14 inches Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Will it be slow enough for them to keep up or will we be out Monday? Need to finish report cards for Thursday so wish I knew for sure

Local field trip Tuesday morning to see a show at 10am ( live theater, Mr. Math). Not sure that will be happening...either performer can't get here or we have a delay

Southwestern NH. I usually get the lower amount being in a valley. However, the surrounding hill towns send to our middle and/ or high schools and get the higher end. Often they are the reason we cancel.

I think it might depend on what kind of roads

We have a lot of hills around us, so they call off school anytime there is more than a couple of inches. Buses have a hard time navigating on hilly slopes when it is even a little bit slick.

We are on the storm watch for the 8-14 inches. It will be the 1st storm for the new superintendent to call. Hoping it is a snow day.
Grandson has/had pneumonia and could use another day of rest before returning to school. DH just went to the store for storm essentials chips and cookies lol and to gas up our car.Sun is shining but the fee like temp is 13 degrees brr.

Same here. Because the ground is so cold the snow will stick and be very slick. Very bad road conditions plus first major storm. Not a good combination.

Looks like we have a chance of snow Sunday/Monday. I don't like snow days before Christmas. I have so much to do before then. I put the majority of my curriculum in before Christmas. I like my snow days in the LONG stretch between January and April.

Sounds like you'll be out Monday!

I would be surprised if we had school on Monday here in the Upper Valley...but you know that if you donít do whatever work you would need to do for school in anticipation of snow...you will jinx it!

Getting the same storm in RI, but only an inch here. We are so close to ocean that everything melts pretty fast.

My town is right on the mostly snow/ mostly rain line. Our forecast is either an inch or up to eight inches right now. My motto is plan for the worst forecast.

Friend's daughter is getting married on Sunday. Hoping it starts later than expected and grateful that it's an early afternoon wedding. This won't be the wedding where the guests linger.

We are in a 3-6 inch range. It is supposed to snow Sunday through Tuesday morning here, as well, but it looks like we will get most of our snow late Monday into Tuesday morning.

It could be an early release on Monday for us, depending how the storm goes!

Fingers crossed for you! If you have school, drive safely.

I think we will have it. We are predicted to get 5-7, but we are predicted to get it Saturday into Sunday, so by Monday it should be cleaned up.

I love snow days, but personally, I prefer to wait until January/Feb. to get them. Dec. goes by so fast anyway with only 3 weeks until break and all of the activity going on.

We are in the 18-24" range

Upstate NY, near Mass border. We're not even in the ADKs but it's actually hitting the I-90 corridor the worst.

Doubt we'll have school Monday and probably a delay Tuesday. (And I'm out Wednesday for a dentist appointment....... Aaannnd I was out last Tuesday for a doctor's appointment. ) If this happens, I will have not been in class for 9 days.

For us it would depend on the timing and if it's actually closer to the 14 inches vs. the 8. 14 inches during a short amount of time coinciding with school arrival/morning commute would be a definite snow day. 14 inches spread out over the two days wouldn't be, and 8 inches even all at once wouldn't be likely unless it was accompanied by extremely cold temps (below 0) and strong winds.

Snowstorm

Guessing that you'll be out, Monday with heavy, wet snow predicted.
Perhaps a delay, Tuesday, as this is a long storm. It will be interesting to
track the storming warning updates for the NH/NY/MA area & to see how
it works out for all. Expecting 18+.
