I know itís nothing in the scheme of world events, but the water in my area is off today 8:30-5:00 because the City is working on the pipes.

I really really appreciate water.

That would tick me off too. I also enjoy water (as do Mason and Molly).

Ugh, that is no fun at all! I'm glad you only have one more hour to wait. (I just looked at the time, and it's four o'clock here in SoCal).

Not Fun

Having no water is annoying. Our kitchen faucet is malfunctioning, and only a little stream of water comes out. The dishwasher isn't working either. A plumber is coming Monday, but having limited water access will not be fun all weekend.

Going with out, even for a short time, really makes you appreciate modern comforts. Hopefully they let you know in advance so you could plan ahead.

Thanks for the sympathy. Houston, we have water.

But.....OMG, whatever they did to the pipes was bigger than anything Iíve ever experienced. They said to run the faucets first, then flush the toilets. I started with the tub: filthy dirty water. Then the bathroom sinks spit a ton and ricocheted all over the bathroomóIím not kidding: water on walls, mirrors, floor. What a mess! And then lots of flushing to get clean water.

Okay, done complaining. Iím sooooo grateful to have water.

I love how even when you know the water is off, you still go to the tap and turn it on . Well I do that anyways!

I'm glad you have your water back, and that it only took 1 day. The street below me had no water for almost a week. There are 12 houses on the street, and there was a water truck that came every day with a new supply of fresh water. The people could fill buckets and other containers with it. Some of them took showers at the YMCA, others had friends who were kind enough to let them use their bathrooms.

FWIW, my block had no power for an entire day last week because of maintenance on the power lines.

All these things make me realize how privileged we are to have these utilities.
