Is it similar to what apple and android have for the newer cars now? I have android auto built into my 2019 car and do enjoy that feature. It simplifies navigation, makes calls, reads my texts to me....

I think it is similar. My car connects to my phone, but it doesnít have Android Auto.

DH isnít sure why I needed it since I drive a whopping 4 miles to work.

I don't understand the Echo Auto

Reviews aren't great for those, but what I really want to know is why have one? I'm only barely into Alexa only because we're recently putting Ring security up and an Echo product was bundled free. Doesn't the Echo Auto just do what you can already do from your phone if you have the Alexa app? And since the device has to go through the phone anyway I just don't see why it's necessary.

What am I missing here?

I got it set up today.

The main convenience is the voice command. I can control my phone to make calls with a phone button on my steering wheel, but I can’t operate apps that way. This lets me voice command apps like iHeartRadio, Pandora, and Amazon Music. I can add things to a list or set reminders. Not sure what else.

We control our house lights, heater, and a few other devices with the Echo Dot.

I’m a nerd.
