It's one week into December and I hate Christmas. I used to love it a lot.
I miss my mom
I"m tired of other people dumping on me.
I hate to say it but can we just skip to January?

I'm with you. I love the feel of Christmas, but being alone and random family members sucking the life out of me makes me want to hibernate until January.

This is my second Christmas without my mom and it just is not as enjoyable. I miss her so much. She made life better.

But she was a rock when her mom died and carried on for all of us so I will do the same.

I am sorry you miss you mom. If only we could visit them in heaven.

I get it and I send you hugs. I havenít joined the bah-humbug-group yet, but I sure miss my mom. It occurred to me just today that Iím the matriarch in this family. How did that happen? I want my mom. I work hard to make Christmas wonderful for my adult children and their families, but thereís just so much less joy in holidays without my mom. I want my mom.

She always made Christmas so much fun. I miss her, but I guess I love Christmas all the more because of the memories I have of the Christmases with her. I still do everything like she did, as much as possible.

Holiday Season

I completely understand. I'm ready for the holiday season to be over too. My mother was the only person in my family I was close to, and she has been gone for 14 years. My siblings and their families are draining and difficult. I'm ready for it to be January already.

Let me join you in this a little. My mom has been gone for two years and anytime I conjure up memories of Christmas, she is a part of those memories. I do so miss her. Today we had her SO over for lunch and he came close to tears telling us he made a mistake today by watching a Christmas movie. It reminded him of my mom and how much she loved Christmas movies.

I still go through the motions of celebrating Christmas, but it is just not the same.

I especially miss my mom during the holidays. My DH and spent holidays with her. We do not have children so the holidats are so much more low key. We spend the day together. I miss having somewhere to go.

Iím with you on this! Every good Christmas memory I have was due to the love and hard work of my mom. She worked tirelessly to make Christmas special for us! Wish I could give her a hug!

I am sorry. I am a bit down this year too with none of parents any longer with us and DD being in Colorado. Both boys are married and though we will see them at some point, its just not the same anymore. No grandchildren to dote on yet either. (((HUGS)))

Maybe some volunteer work when school is out would help - homeless shelter, animal shelter, etc.

Nancy
