Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi all--

Let's post what we're doing for bboards in and around the library this fall--

One idea I saw on Pinterest was Read Books (it will look like a red box).

Other than that, I'm having a hard time deciding on others-- I have one large one inside the library to do and one in the hallway...

One I really want to do is

an iPod Phone with the title iRead. Where each of the little squares are on the phone would be a picture of a book cover with the title, author, and call number. The 20 books would be the top 20 check outs from last year. I saw this idea online, and can't remember where, because I would love to give credit to the creator.

I'm going WILD

I am doing a "Wild about Reading" theme in the library to start the year.
I have been buying lots of animal print decorations.
A bulletin board outside of the Media Center will say "We're WILD about Reading!" and have animals reading books. I have plans for another board in the hallway to have pictures of teachers and staff reading books about what they are "wild" about.

Story Laboratory

I am building on the spring theme from Scholastic and turning our library into a story laboratory. One bulletin board will be the periodic table of reading and the other will have story elements being mixed to create books. I also received a grant to incorporate many science based centers. Hope to do lots of connecting of fiction and nonfiction.

Yearly Theme

Clip to ScrapBook #7

Since I am in a middle school, I decided to develop three themes to rotate and add to over a three year period (Students, for the most part, are only here three years, so they always see a different theme.) My theme this year is Reading Rocks at Riverside. I have attached one area of my library for you to see.
