End of Year Procedures

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello All:
Hope all is well. Would you mind if I ask you a question about school end of year procedures?

As a newbie I want to be certain to cover everything and not miss anything at all.

Could you tell me what you consider your most important end of year activities/procedures? What would ensure that I start the next school year reading to go.

I know that I need to do inventory/reordering the books/cleaning and an annual report that our media specialists complete each year (which all is almost complete).

But are there other things that you always felt were necessary to be done at the end of the school year to ensure a great start and to have everything wrapped up.

Thanks so much!!

I am assuming you have taken care of sending late notices and so forth?

Decorate

One thing that I do during the last few days is decorate the library for the next year. Since I rotate three themes (Reading Rocks, Wild about Reading, and See the World..Read) and add to them each year, I know what the decorations will be. I have my library assistants to help, and when other teachers are decorating their rooms the weeks before school starts, I am cleaning the library and preparing handouts, passes, etc. for the teachers.
