I was wondering what software programs other libraries use? We really need to update our software to something new, but since I am new I'm not sure what is out there!

Also if you know the general cost that would be helpful!

Are the 2 big library providers. I've used them both, like them both. They can be expensive when starting up, after that the price is dependent on what services you get. Both have excellent help and training. There are cheaper software providers, but some are problem ridden. There are a few open source, Koho comes to mind. Also, check with your public library, some districts share some services with the public libraries, but there are standards that need to be met to do that.

Opps- title should be Follett and Alexandria

Don't know what it cost at start up. For maintenance, I pay $499 annually, but we have a small library (@6000 books). I like it and found it very easy and intuitive to learn. I get annoyed when they make changes midyear with updates, but that comes with all software.
