to share if anyone wants them. I used the poems found on a couple of different websites. They are in color, and in a Word doc. Unfortunately, I did not create one file with several pages, I created individual files. You might want to verify the dates/days - I was really tired by the time I finished this.
We've missed an entire week of school due to an ice storm. We have only 4 days this week, so I doubt that the students will be in much of a 'learning mode'. I've been looking at everyone's 'Christmas' attachments and was so happy that they shared, I wanted to spread the Christmas cheer too! Merry Christmas!
The calendars turn out really well. I made them on my computer, and all the first grade classes did their handprints last week. We had seven parent volunteers for one full day working with the students. They are adorable!
Our first grades have made these for presents for parents. We began them in Sept., doing them on Fridays. They are now complete, bound, and wrapped, ready for parents. THEY ARE PRECIOUS!! I know as a parent it would be something I would keep and cherish. I will let you know parent feedback. Blessings to all!
I will be returning to work after a leave and have been looking for a nice gift my students could make since they did not make anything for Christmas gifts. Thank you. What is Index paper and did you use it as suggested in the website you attached? Thanks again
for my class. I simply printed them on a color printer (our school is lucky enough to have one), but I did supply my own paper. I actually had a seventh grade class come in and help. We finished the whole class within an hour! I simply set up 13 desks (one for each month plus the cover - which was a Christmas tree, so not really appropriate now) and put a seventh grader at each one. I gave them the instructions print out from the website and went over how to paint the student's hand for their particular month. Each one of my students 'traveled' to each station, and it worked very well. After they were dry, I did some outlining work with markers. My students wrapped their gifts and took them home to put under the tree. I'm anxious to know how the parents like them.
for the grandparents. They came out SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!
Bless you to all of you who had the time and help to do it with your class. Although I did make calendars this year with my first graders, I did not do the handprinting. I just had the kids fill in the calendar for each month in 2008 and create a border for the calendar that exemplified that month.
Thank you to all who shared. It is a wonderful idea!
I like gel2981's idea to start these in Sept. I'm going to save these and do that next year. My daughter made me a calendar when she was in 2nd grade and I still have it (she's 23). I'm sure parents will love this! Thanks for sharing!
I have been trying to make this exact thing for about a week...thank you for all the hard work. We are making these as an end of the year project for all the parents. I am hoping they love them as much as I do!
Hi
How do you open the attachments? I have signed up as a member of Pro-Teacher, and I still can't access your calendar templates. Hope you can help me.
