We are thinking of getting away for a few days to Florida in the future. Looking for somewhere at the beach, where the water is clear and pretty! We would prefer somewhere that is quieter. Suggestions on beaches and even places to stay!

We stayed at the Gulfcrest in Clearwater Beach. It was a budget-oriented hotel, but suited our needs as we were not in the room much. Clearwater Beach was within walking distance, and very nice, but can get crowded. Our favorite day was when we took the ferry to Caladisi Island. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all. There was a small concession where we rented chairs and got some snacks. We stayed in Indian Shores ?? It was very quiet. We loved it. So much different from the Atlantic side.

Indian Rocks is nice on the Gulf side, along with Reddington and Madeira. Jupiter has some nice beaches if I recall correctly. The Atlantic side definitely has the more exciting waves.

The panhandle is gorgeous and beautiful white sand. I love the Destin area.

I prefer the Gulf coast but Amelia Island/Ferandina Beach is one of my favorites not on the Gulf. It has a small town feel and is not overly crowded at all.

We love Anna Maria. We stay at Anna Maria Island Inn-Tropical Isle. It’s right across from the beach-less than 100 steps. Sometimes we are the only ones on the beach!

My sister likes Venice.

Pensacola Beach is nice with the white sand and gorgeous water. It is a part of the emerald coast. I think it is near Destin.

We have enjoyed Navarre Beach which is located between Pensacola Beach and Destin. It's beautiful and quiet.

We have some awesome beaches. They are mostly county parks, so they are well maintained, with restroom, showers, picnic pavilions, etc. That being said, it is not a area I would come to for a vacation. The west coast has much better beaches, especially the panhandle area. Northeast Florida is also nice. St. Augustine is a beautiful city (I grew up there). There are beautiful beaches and many historical sites to visit. Fernandina Beach area is also a little gem with historical opportunities. One of my favorite places though, is Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral. It is laid back and relaxing. You can visit the space center if you are looking for something else to do.

Is a really cool town. We stayed at Treasure Island beach and it was not crowded at all.

Naples has beautiful beaches and incredible restaurants and shopping. Its a beautiful, rich town. Even the Walgreens building is pretty .

St. Pete is more cool and artsy. I loved the vibe and the wonderful downtown and restaurants. We took Segways with a guide and had a blast and got to see the incredible boat harbor, etc.

Make sure to take a sunset cruise. Not on one of the party boats, but a cruise company. The one in Naples, is unbelievable. It takes you all down the Naples bay out to the Ocean, and then turns back. You will see so many mega mansions and mega yachts. It was my favorite part of the trip. You don't have to take it at sunset. They have them a couple of other times in the day.
