I didn't want to hijack Greyhound Girl's post about moving, but I'm curious about what is a good website to find accurate crime rates in cities/towns throughout the country. My husband and I are thinking about moving and want to find a safe area. Thanks!

On realtor.com if you look at houses, there will be a section that will show you where it is on the map with a key that shows what the crime rates are. I donít know of any specific sites that just list crime rates.

Dh and I were JUST looking up that information for places we wanted to live. I'll have to ask him when I get home from work. He found the site.

Try city-data.com. I looked there when I was moving.

Yes, please GracyKrispy! I would love to know what site he looked at.

Jazzer, I found what you're referring to and it's pretty helpful, thanks!

Haley, I have been to that site before and I do like it. I wish they had updated their crime stats though. It seems to have stopped at 2018. It's better than nothing though!

Thanks, GraceKrispy! It looks like there's a fee or is there a free version I'm missing?

Hmm. I know dh didn't pay a fee. I just tried it, and I was able to just put in a location on the home page and get the maps with realty costs, crime, etc. etc. However, now I'm recalling that some of the small towns we tried did require a subscription. Sorry The bigger towns and cities we were able to access (most of the suburbs we tried worked as well).

Cool, I'll try again then! I picked a small town and maybe it was one of those that required a subscription. I appreciate your help!
