What are your favorite "teacher books"? What has inspired you and shifted your paradigm? One of my goals this year is to have the TV off more and read more books. I have been teaching for eight years, and I currently teach 4th grade. I'm looking for any and all suggestions! Thanks in advance!

The Power of Our Words

Yardsticks
is a great reference as to what is developmentally appropriate and I often refer back to it to remind myself that the misbehaviors I am seeing are normal!

The Morning Meeting Book

Can you tell I come from a Responsive Classroom school? I do think these books are good choices, even if you do not do RC.

For reading: The Book Whisperer

For writing/grammar: Jeff Anderson's books (there are 3 of them - 2 grammar, 1 writing)

For all-around teaching: What Great Teachers Do Differently

Thanks for all of the great suggestions! I went and checked out Teach Like A Champion from the library yesterday. I love it so far. I've added all of the books you guys have mentioned on my "books to read" list. Thanks again!
