Hello Kinder Teachers,

I just wanted to share with you the handwriting model that my class has used for the past 4 years. The best part is that it is Free! You must have access to youtube though during your classroom instruction. The lady Magical Molly, Gina, is an Occupational Therapist who services the school I work at. She is amazing and makes handwriting not only easy but fun for the kids. My kids can't wait to write letter every day.

2) type in kidz skillz
3) watch video 1 for you and start with video 2 for kiddos.

I like how she explains some of them and uses the different colors to help. But I'm curious why she starts some of the capital letters at the bottom. I've never heard of any handwriting that starts anything at the bottom.

Yes I have understood that you start at the top for writing the letters.. .

I was just looking at my kinder's handwriting and got so bummed out! For the most part, it's AWFUL! I ran across this post and just checked out Magical Molly's videos. I watched her intro to teachers and she addressed starting some letters at the bottom...it goes along with her philosophy of trying to keep your pencil on the paper as much as possible which she believes helps when transitioning to cursive. Makes sense to me.

Our district uses HWOT but I'm just not a big fan. Too gimmicky.
I just may give this a try! At very least, I'll let parents know about it. Thanks for the great resource!
