When all this started last March, I filed for and qualified for Unemployment Benefits. Our schools started in the hybrid mode in the fall. I didn't feel comfortable going back but I did discontinue requesting Unemployment benefits. Last week our schools went back to distance. I never closed my Unemployment Claim in the fall. I don't have much left in my Unemployment Account but there is some. In your opinion, could I start claiming benefits again until my funds are exhausted? I am not trying to take advantage of anything but I really could use whatever I can get. Thanks for your help.

Yes, tell the truth, answer all questions honestly and if they choose to give you unemployment, praise God! I have been on unemployment the whole time and I recertify every two weeks and I answer all the questions honestly including that I have refused work because I am not qualified to do the online training. I figure I paid into the system for 45 years, so at this time when I need help and cannot work because of what the virus has changed, I have no trouble applying for it.

I agree 100% with Ima and 96. I've never applied before covid, but this is what it is for.

I’m taking my unemployment until it goes away in December. Almost social security time for me anyway. I was going to wait a few more years, but I think it’s time.

I am with you, I turned 62 this past summer and was extremely grateful to be able to start collecting SS. I
had planned on taking it anyway, however, given the pandemic, the timing was a real blessing from the Lord.
