Mom’s longtime male friend called today to tell me that his mother was in the hospital with covid pneumonia. I’m not surprised since last week he called to tell me that he probably shouldn’t come visit “just in case” because his brother had a cold. I hadn’t invited him because he cannot social distance or keep his mask on/on correctly. The following day he called to tell me his brother’s “to rule out Covid” test was positive. They all live together. Nobody isolated.

At the end of his conversation to tell me his mother was sick, he added that he didn’t think he should visit because of both other people in his house being Covid positive. No sh!t.

He just doesn’t get it.

At least he has been honest with you...it is a good thing you stuck to your guns and didn't let him visit.

DS talked to a business associate over the phone who was coughing like crazy. She admitted to having COVID but her pneumonia wasn't COVID related according to her. You can't believe what crazy things people think.

Well, at least he gets that he shouldn't visit when his housemates tested positive- some people would still think that they would be ok since THEY didn't test positive! Glad you've kept him away.

I don't even know what to say. It drives me crazy that when the grandboys are with their dad or other gma they don't wear masks, viist friends, and go lots of places. Neither of them believe it's real. He tells her that when they're with him, it's non of her business what they do or don't do.

I'm just in awe of the clueless people in the world. I am so supportive of keeping your family safe during this time. The very last thing your mother needs on top of everything else, is covid.

Well I sure am glad he didn't visit you. So many people just do not take this thing seriously! Prayers that his mother has a speedy recovery.

I'm glad he did not come over and realizes it isn't a good idea. We had a family fall and break her hip, she tested positive for COVID19. It came out that her granddaughter that lives with her had tested positive for the virus and didn't tell anyone. Needless to say it went through the family because they gathered for Thanksgiving not knowing one of them was affected. I am so glad I am not reading about your mom having COVID.
