I've always had dreams of a bright future and different ways that I could make a difference, and teaching was the one profession that I always saw as my future. Now that I am doing it, I feel defeated on a daily basis. I try so so hard to always have a positive attitude and put in 110%, but it is very tiring. Sometimes, there aren't enough hours in the day to even get everything done that I need to for the next day, then my Supervisor tells me she'd like me to be in charge of arranging a fundraiser, or my principal tells me he's stopping in. It's tough.
It may not be you, sweetie. The profession seems to be alot different now than it was even 25 years ago. I'm not sure of other jobs you can do, but definitely, absolutely EXPLORE your options. I am doing the same. You have a job right now and can still give it your all, but search for other things in the meantime. The beauty in not knowing what else you might like is that you could try ANYTHING! Once you possibly get another job, even if you don't like it, you can try to find another one! I'm not sure what I'm going to try for yet either, but there is fun in knowing that there are other possibilities out there
