I need ideas for a big book stand. I put an easel on the wish list I turned in at the end of last year, but apparently it is just that, a wish list. When I moved to a new room, I found an easel, but it doesn't have a ledge for paint, markers, big books, or whatever else you might need a ledge for. (I use colorful binder clips to keep my chart tablet on it.) I have tried putting my big books on the chalk ledge, but there's not the slant needed to hold the book up. I have tried having students hold the big book, but it is hard to use the pointer to track print. I'm open to suggestions.

I bought one at Big Lots. It is not really meant for big books but works well. It has a white board on one side and a black board on the other with ledges on both sides. It also has 2 rows of fabric baskets underneath. I use the baskets to store trade books. I think it was around $40.

I have seen many easels that have magnetic backed trays that come with it to hold big books, chart paper, etc. Perhaps someone sells them separately.

I ordered mine from Scholastic with bonus points. It isn't the best quality but it does serve its purpose. You could clip the outer cover of the book onto the easel you have like you do your chart, and then you would have to just turn the pages. Maybe you could have a helper.

I used bonus points several years ago to get one. It is holding up pretty well and is a really nice height.

table top painters easel. It isn't multi-functional with a whiteboard or anything, but it works well. I don't remember where I got it, but I am sure I didn't spend too much.

just a thought - see if your local lumber yard has a scrap of rain guter that could be attached with screws.
