I just bought a Cricut. Can the design studio software let you use fonts from Microsoft Word? I know it will only let you use a font from a cartridge only if you own that cartridge. I would love to have the option of all my Word fonts with it!! TIA!!

The design study only lets you use the cartridges. I have heard about a program called Sir-cuts-a-lot that will let you use all of your fonts. I don't have it but its worth looking into. Just google "sir cuts a lot".

Design Studio allows you to pick and choose the images that you want to cut from cartridges. It is great for welding letters together. Sometimes you may want to only cut out one of the items in layers. For example, I was cutting out monkeys for a scrapbooking camp. I wanted to cut out the monkey on brown paper and the leaf on green paper. I was able to delete the leaf off of the screen and just cut out 12 monkeys. Then, i was able to delete the monkey off the screen and print out 12 leaves.

In order to use fonts on your computer to cut from, you need software not sanctioned by Provo Craft - either Sure Cuts a Lot (SCAL) http://www.craftedge.com/index.html or Make the Cut (MTC) http://www.make-the-cut.com/

I have Make the Cut and can use any font installed on the computer. Fonts also include all styles of "wingdings" which come in many picture varieties.
