Is there a way to send a private message to someone on Facebook? I'm completely new to Facebook, so if there is, can you give me directions of how to do it? Thanks!
Yes, if you’re on your desktop, click on the message icon on the upper right corner. Type in their name and select it. Once you’ve selected it start typing your message and send it.
If you’re not friends with them it’s easy for them to miss the message.
If you’re on your phone, download the message app and do the the same thing.
Thanks! The person I need to send a message to is the owner/moderator of a private group. She posts on the group using the group name. If I send a private message to the group name, will just she get it and it won't be publicized? I need to share my e-mail with her, and I don't want to post it for everyone to see.
Teacherbee_4, yes. Look at it like you are messaging an account instead of a person. If that admin/mod account is shared, others may see it when they log into that account.
amiga13, Messenger is the app you use on Mobile to do the same thing as a PM on a computer. The same messages show up in both places.
There is an app called Facebook Messenger that you can get for your phone and iPad. This will allow you to send private messages to anyone through Facebook, even people you are not friends with.
You can access messages on your phone the same way now, by pressing the message icon, don’t need the messenger app anymore, at least on a more up to date phone
