You've likely heard about the Amtrak train crash yesterday in Missouri. One of my friends moved out of state and was traveling on that train with her young adult son back to my area to visit her mom. Anyhow, obviously they were involved in the crash. Thankfully they were uninjured (bruises).

It was heartwarming to hear her description of how warm and welcoming the people of Mendon, Missouri, were. They brought food, offered their spare bedrooms, drove people to hotels, sat with them. My friend mentioned that this morning one of the people who had helped them called to make sure they were OK.

I love the people of the midwest! So down to earth.

I was just reading a story about the Boy Scouts who were aboard the train and how they stepped up and helped! One stayed with a truck driver (I think it was a truck driver) until he passed away. So sad.

I love train travel and so that train crash story caught my attention yesterday. It's always heartwarming to read of the many kindhearted people in America. So often the news is the opposite. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad your friends will be ok.

I think the train riders were all so lucky. That crash could have turned out so much worse. I am super happy that your friends are okay and that a community came together and did such amazingly kind things.
