Will I have enough time?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm sorry, I posted below and it's really a follow-up question to that one. I just lost my grandmother last week. I lived with and took care of her for the last two and a half years. It's really hard.

My closest family is about 4 1/2 hours away. I would like to get away for a week and start up again on August 11. School starts September 3rd with Meet the Teacher on August 28. If I go home for a week, will I have enough time to prepare the classroom and get ready? I'll be a first year teacher so I'm worried.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Yes, you will have plenty of time. Take a week to grieve with your family. I walked into my classroom the night before school started last year and I still had a successful year!

I am so sorry. But take the time! It'll give you a chance to breathe and spend time with your family before the chaos of the year starts.

I spent three days setting up my classroom this year, and I'll have about another 3 to plan. You should be fine

when I went back to teaching after raising my family my father passed away - the kids and routine of the day are what got me through it! it's great to be around kids, faculty and in a positive envirnoment. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I think you should take some time. Even if you stay home and work, will your heart really be in it? If you're like me, you could work around the clock and not feel 'finished', so you need to take care of yourself, get away, and spend time with your family.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. You really need to take the time to be with your family-school will be here when you return-and that is more than enough time to get your room ready-take the time that you need now!!!

Class Prep

My sympathy to you. You need to take care of yourself first. All the class prep can come later. You can slowly get things ready after you get back. Remember, your classroom doesn't have to be perfect at the beginning of the school year. You are in my thoughts...
