I was trying to figure out how to organize my picture books this year (in terms of what to read when) and I came across this:

I happen to be a person friend of Besty's (she is married to my brother's best friend) but even if I weren't her blog is great and this document is amazing! I hadn't seen it before today. I think that after I read all the books on the list to the kids I will print it off and send it home. I am excited about having this list and these ideas.
I plan to read all of these books (I find that many children haven never read these books even though I always assumed that they are old hat) and I have come to believe it is my duty to expose them to these. (Major paradigm shift for me because I was very "alternative" picture book for a long time.) I own most of them. And then after 100 days of school (give or take) I will start larger chapter books.
Thought others here would like this too.
