Math Facts and Math Games

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Does anyone have any fun and easy math games up their sleeves? I need to provide these for students who finish early and to fill a time slot twice a week (my small private school board suddenly decided we have a math emphasis this year. They just told us today!) These need to be independent because I'll be working with groups while other kids are playing these games.

In the same vein, do any of you lovely PTers have a fun way to learn and practice math facts in your repertoire? We are using flash cards and mad minutes, but I'd like to spice it up a bit.

Greetings,
The following web site has some ideas for dot cube games--many can be played individually or in pairs. Minimal prep required. http://www.kidscount1234.com/mathcentersandgames.html

If you have stamps and stamp pads, they can stamp addition/subtraction problems and write the corresponding number sentence.

Activities with pattern blocks, linking cubes, and other manipulatives.

Few ideas to get started. :-)
