I know a lot of others have already posted pics of their crate seats, but I'm so excited about how my first one turned out so I had to share! I love getting great ideas from PT!

It is very cute. Good job! I was looking for that color crate and couldn't find 4 so I ended up with the lime green. I've had a few teachers stop by my room for a chat and noticed the crates. Everyone thinks they are so cute!!

To make these, do you just make a cushion to fit the size of the bottom? Is it really that easy to make it look so cute?

The cushion actually fits on top, so it serves as a seat and storage

did you buy foam and cover them or purchase already made cushions? If you bought them, where did you find ones that fit so perfectly?

I made the cushions to fit. My brother-in-law had some scrap plywood so he cut it to fit. I bought one of those foam mattress covers and cut it to fit the seat. I doubled it over and was still able to get 6 seats out of it. Then I just used a staple gun to staple the fabric on the back. I sat on it and seemed pretty sturdy. I'm really pleased with the way they turned out!

You folks need to stop posting all these WONDERFUL things you are doing because now I must go out and get some crates and make my own seats! I just called my handy mother who can whip up anything in a flash and told her all about the seats. I am going to make some for sure!

Now....STOP posting cool stuff! I'm gonna have to take out a second mortgage!

Loving seeing how everyone is making their create seats. I have bought the supplies and plan to make some myself this weekend. I shared the pics and idea from here one of my coworkers and she is going to make them too! Hope they turn out as nice as everyone elses!

I love it! I bought those color crates too but won't be making any seats out of them because I'm afraid my students are too big and would break them.

Miss. Honey- I was worried about the same thing. If you use "real" milk crates they are much more sturdy. I had a set of 6 I was given for free, but never got around to getting the wood cut for them.
