I am going to use the Morning Meeting in my class this year but what about a way to wrap up the day? Does anyone use an end of day meeting and if so what do you talk about????

Last year I ended the day with chapter book read aloud. At the end of reading, we'd talk about predictions, etc. and then talk about goals for the next day, being specific about any problems that had come up during the day, etc.

Another idea is to briefly go over what you all did in each subject that way it is fresh on the child's mind and when/if the parents ask "What did you learn in school today?" They will have something fresh in their mind.

If you use a MOOSE-type binder, you could have a section for Learning Log. Briefly go over what you've done that day as a whole group, then have each student write two sentences about what they've learned.

Another teacher I know of does High-Lows. The students circle up and share a high-point and/or low-point of the day. They always have the option to pass.

Last year we met on the rug after everyone was packed up. I opened the blog on my website and we did a daily reflection. Four students got to reflect (tell me something specific we did - not, "We had lunch."). I posted it on the website and those students got a sticker (label) that said, "I've been published! Check me out at www.mywebsite.com." The kids and parents loved it!
