Clip to ScrapBook #1

I posted about this a few days ago and had a lot of questions about it. I went to the classroom today and took a picture of it and placed it on my website.

It is the ways we say hello each morning.

That is such a wonderful and creative way to start the day off right. This will be my first year teaching and I am either going to teacher kindergarten or second grade. If you don't mind I would love to adapt that same idea to my own classroom...

I also loooooveee your Dixie the Dachshund take home buddy. I have a dachshund and I adore them, they have such great personalities. I also always wanted to have a weekend buddy for my kids to take home and practices their free writing about their adventures with our classroom buddy. It never crossed my mind to use a Dachshund. It would be great to use this if I do teach second grade, I know I will share my love of my dog to my kiddos.

How to make it

To make it: I traced a circle on cardstock from one of my big cooking pots and cut it out. I divided it into eight sections like a pizza. Then I took apart an old spinner I have had forever and never use and atteched the spinner arrow thingy to the middle of the big circle. Then I found eight fun ways to say hello and glued them on to the eight sections. Oh, I laminated it before sticking the spinner on.

Do you have explinations for each greeting? And a copy of the cards you used?

Super cute idea

I love your site! I was wondering what your I Spy sight word bottles are like? do you put the words in the bottle or just the letters? I really like your spinner and the poetry race! What a great way for students to get practice reading! I might have to borrow this idea! thanks so much for sharing!

Thank you for checking it out. I am updating almost daily. Currently I am adding more pictures because I have going back to my classroom and am able to take the pictures. The site word bottles are coming soon. I made them by fill empty water bottles withe cut up/laminated site words and rice and then hot glued them shut. A pic will be up hopefully Monday.

Everyone else, here is the list of greetings a and clip art.
