She actually asked why the concert was cancelled

Someone posted on FB that she was bummed the Kenny Chesney concert was cancelled.

A friend of her actually asked why it was cancelled. Seriously? Has she been living under a rock for the last 3 months? Gee, I wonder why a concert was cancelled. Hmm... could it be the weather? No. Could it be Kenny Chesney didn't want to perform? I don't think so. Could it be a little something called COVID? I think that's what it is.

People.

I had tickets to see Sebastian Bach in April. Rescheduled to November. Now cancelled completely. I didnít ask why.

Was just reading someone saying how the artists were choosing only to do a few select dates ... uh, no, the venues are canceling or rescheduling based on guidelines in their communities.

I bought tickets before Covid-19 hit. It is in August. I cannot see any way it will be held safely, but there is no word on cancellation/postponement. I would like my refund. The concert is scheduled for a big football stadium.

I bet you could contact the ticket seller to get a refund (maybe?). I bought my sister and her SO Reba tickets as a Christmas gift ó concert in April. It got rescheduled to end of July. Then postponed to October and now it is rescheduled for July 2021. Each time I got an email with the opportunity to get a refund. It was through Ticket Star.

In these parts, much of the Kenny Chesney fanbase tends to be the same folks who think that COVID-19 is a liberal hoax and who protested for their right to drink in bars and get haircuts. Maybe it was a disingenuous post showing what side of the "debate" she's on. (Apologies to any PT Chesney fans who don't fit this demographic.)

My Backstreet Boys concerts that were for this summer are already rescheduled for next summer. I'm just happy they weren't canceled. I have something to look forward to next summer.

If you live in Georgia...

Our completely idiotic governor is reopening concert venues on July 1st. Great idea with the cases spiking. Fortunately, I think most venues and performers have more common sense and will not reopen.

I will say they are not reopening with no guidelines, but since Georgia does not require a face mask-I cannot see how this can be safe with any sort of guidelines.

an interview on Sirius XM with an artist--I think it was Jon BonJovi--who said that he preferred to cancel vs. postpone due to this very issue.

Apparently, if the artist CANCELS, refunds are always offered to the fans. If the artist postpones or reschedules, the venue or ticket master does NOT have to offer a refund.

I don't know what ticket resellers are obligated to do or if there are even options in those cases...

We purchased pre quarantine. MLB didnít postpone the game till the day of. Tick et master waited until a few days after the postponement to offer us a chance at refund. Fingers are crossed we are refunded. The airline gives us a year to reschedule and we were able to cancel the rental car and hotel with no charge.
