So, let’s celebrate. In honor of National Dog Day post a pic of your dog and something that makes him/her special, unique, or whatever.

Obviously we all know Aikman. Aikman is a rare Greyhound that barks and growls at people, especially men, when they come to the door. He’s also my first Greyhound that plays with toys and LOVES to run.

Here he is enjoying his bacon and pb ice cream.

Bacon and BP ice cream is that a dog or people flavor?

Tegan loves ALL food (except kale), but watermelon is her favorite summer treat.

Our girls are all special in their own way.
  • Jasmine is adorable, but she hates people.
  • Lexie thinks she is a cat.
  • Gracie is a drama queen, and her startle reflex is always on 11.
  • Lacey is a daddy’s girl, but she likes me okay.
  • Lily is the leader and longs to be a farm dog.

This is Emma. She loves her toys. She beasts stuffed in about 5 minutes, delighting in pulling out most of the stuffing, and also often manages to turn the toy inside out. She is very good with her "hands" and can lay on her back, hold a large bone in her hands while she chews on it. She is a goof.
Happy Dog Day, Emma!

Swift loves his boy best which makes my heart happy. DS is not as sure.

He must have been tired today because several times when we practiced “sit” he just melted into “down.” It was pretty cute. He’s going to bring a lot of excitement into our house, I can just tell.

This is Cassie. She is special because she is such an easy dog. Our prior dog was high intensity, high energy and loved only the 4 people in our house. We loved her but it was stressful keeping her and others safe. We have had Cassie for a year. She likes people and dogs.

This is Ginger, she is pictured when I first got her 10/2/15. She is a real talker [barks] to her Uncle Jeff. She loves lying in the closet, its her hidey-hole. She loves to go for rides up country with grandmom & poppi when weather permits. She does have her own car seat.

What?! I am a cat person, but here is my sister’s dog Sadie. Sadly, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 4th. She was well loved and is greatly missed. When we would do road trips she sat in the back and begged us to get her MacDonald’s fries She loved asparagus and tomatoes so when she went outside she always headed right to the garden. My sister planted her her own cherry tomato plant this year on the patio. She never got the chance to eat any though unfortunately.

It is weird to go to my sister’s house and not have her there to greet me.

This is Bailey. She is 6 years old. We traveled full-time for the last three years and she travels everywhere with us. She is cuddly and great company!

Daisy loves to lay on the hot cement and then take a dip in her kiddie pool. She's had bilateral cataract surgery and two knee surgeries. She was recently promoted to "teacher therapy dog" as I needed some encouragement after a rough distance session this morning. I not-so-secretly wish I could keep the job I love and still get to stay home with her indefinitely.

Murray. In this picture, he has flipped his bed upside down. He does that all of the time.

This is Lucy. She has a lot more gray now than this pic from a few years ago. Lucy is 14 years old. She was a Christmas present from my DH. We’ve had her since she was 10 weeks old. She’s the best! She loves to go to the beach and when she was younger she would chase and herd a soccer ball around the yard.

I love seeing all of your sweet doggies! This is my Ginger. She’s the smallest dog we’ve ever owned, but we are so in love with her! She runs to greet me at the door when I come home, and then goes and grabs her soccer ball and runs around with it. If she’s laying next to another family member, she gets down and comes over to lay with me when I come into the room. I secretly LOVE that I’m her favorite!

This is Gunnar. He is beautiful which gets him far because he is a dog that likes to run the show. He is 2 and gets it now that we will win.

This is Coco, my maltipoo. One of her favourite games is to drop a toy in the pool and try to retrieve it without falling in. Sometimes she falls in. She’s a good swimmer! If she can’t reach the toy she barks at it!

Wynnie LOVES Zeus the cat. The feeling is mutual. Zeus comes in at night to snuggle with Wynnie, not me. He holds her face in his paws and licks her. She licks him too but he likes that very wet bath a little less. He used to somehow summon her (without a sound) to open the dog door for him so he could come back in the house!
