Yesterday I decided to take Cassyree’s advice to “Quit your bellyaching.” I saw beachgoers distancing appropriately and reminded myself I’m happy at home.
I was JUST about to start this this thread as it is 9:25 here and wasn't started yet. I NEED my Friday Photos fix!
Here is DD25 and fiance chillin' on my front porch. They are here in NH escaping the heat and confinement of DC and their 1 bedroom apt with no balcony. The were going to stay 3 weeks, but just extended it to 6! Since we only see them once or twice a year, this is amazing!!
this little guy try to get his prize through a tiny space under a window screen and he kept hitting against the screen, but apparently did not realize that if he turned the moth sideways, he could make it. I ended up moving the screen for him. Sorry if this grosses you out. I love watching ants.
My vegetable garden has been growing beautifully, except for occasional visits from the deer. A couple of weeks ago I fenced it, hoping to deter nibbling...so I was concerned when I was at dd’s house and received a message from my gentleman friend telling me he thinks my garden had a nighttime visitor. I rushed home, to find the visitor himself:
Our property backs up to a county park, and they extended a walking trail along the river. This is basically in our backyard, just across our property line. I love where we love!
This monarch was being paparazzi’d by me yesterday when all she wanted to do was to lay some eggs! I persisted and got some pictures. If you look closely you can see her abdomen bent toward the underside of the leaf. That is how they lay their eggs. You might even see the little white egg.
I live for these peaks into everyone’s daily lives.
Lisa, love your visitor. Someone in your house has a terrific sense of humor.
Choppie, that cat made me spit my coffee!!
DD, DH, and I saw these two lovelies on our hike this week.
We were at my son’s house in FL last week and noticed that we could see a light rain out the backdoor and sunshine out the front door. I said that I bet there was a rainbow and we walked outside to this.
We did our second day trip this week. We went to DH’s hometown, took an open-air train ride, toured an old coal mine, and stopped by Cumberland Falls on the way home.
This is from several years ago when he was a fairly young cat still. He's had diabetes for 4 years and this month developed cardiomyopathy and renal failure. He didn't respond to treatment so it was time for him to cross the rainbow bridge. I guess this is the week to lose beloved pets. He was a well-loved cat for 14 years.
I love all your pictures! The only thing in pictures from this week is screenshots. My sister and I sent them back and forth rolling our eyes at some crazy people from our hometown.
We celebrated GD's birthday one month early because her family is moving and we may not see her on her August birthday. GD and I rolled those candles from beeswax and decorated her crown together.
Day trip to Niagara Falls. It was beautiful and we had a blast! We went to Bird a Kingdom and saw so many beautiful birds. This is a group of scarlet ibris perched against a wall of greenery.
