Go Royals!

The Kansas City Royals have finally shown us some baseball. This team has been so bad for so many years, and now they're making us proud. I saw one tweet that said the Royals are good for crime prevention. It was a ridiculously slow night for the Kansas City police while the Royals were playing last night. KC hasn't won a World Series since 1985, when they beat the St. Louis Cardinals four games to three. We've always been Cardinal fans, but are happy to root for the Royals this year.

I grew up in KS, so went to a few Royals games over the years. For a small, farm town girl, the games and the experience (Worlds of Fun, too) were highlights of my youth. We didn't get to too many, as we lived quite a ways away. However my dad and brothers were Royals fans and I grew up watching them on tv. George Brett, Amos Otis, Freddie Patek...I can still name a few.

I remember the 1985 game!! It is nice they are doing well this year. With a lack of money, they've never had the advantage that teams like the Yankees have had. (Married to a Yankees fan). However, the Royals keep plugging along. Good for them and for the city!

I was only a couple years old the last time they made the playoffs. This whole thing is new to me! I almost don't know how to act now, haha. BlueOctober!

All of my teams (Chicago and Milwaukee) are not in the playoffs. This Kansas City team has been an inspiration and looked at in our area as America's team.

If my teams can't be in it, I want teams like Kansas City that have not won in a long time to be the ones to win. For instance, San Francisco has won two Workd Series in the last four years. The Cardinals are in the playoffs every year and would find a way to win even if they had nothing but 12 year olds on their team.

Though we do travel to St. Louis to see playoff games frequently, and I am rooting for them right now because it works in our schedule to go the second round.

I have to say that I am very happy to have a playoff year without the Yankees or the Red Sox.

No offense to anyone who is fans of these teams as I would obviously love it if the White Sox, Cubs, or Brewers were in that position. It just gets frustrating as a fan.

I am rooting for the Royals, even though I am a Yankees fan. I love feel good stories.

I am so excited about this! I remember watching them in 1985. My DH says this team is better. We root for the Cardinals as well. Wouldn't that be something if they both made it to the World Series?
