update on mammo call back

Waiting for results. They took 3 mammogram scans, then the ultrasound scans. It took a long time and I was shaking like a leaf. Everyone was very nice. When I was done, they said my doctor would call me.
Not what I wanted to hear.

I’ve had the experience of having ultrasounds and then having to wait for the doctor to call and it turned out fine. Usually the person who performs the ultrasound wants the doctor to interpret the results.
I hope it all works out for you too.

I thought the doctor calling was standard. Try to take your mind elsewhere. Iím thinking of you.

Sending good thoughts your way! I hope you hear good news soon. It's hard to wait, but waiting for a doctor has always been my experience as well.

I will be thinking of you. I am fortunate to go to a place where the mammos are read right at the time of your appointment. If you need an ultrasound, they do it right there, even if it was unscheduled, and you get the results right there that day. The waiting is the worst.

I had to wait for Dr. to call after my sonogram and biopsy. Everything turned out ok. Sending hugs and love.

This sounds like my experience in my mid thirties. Waiting for the docs to read scans is very standard practice. Years ago I had to wait several days however now Kaiser reads the callback scans right away so I only waited about fifteen minutes before the doc came in. I hope you get an all clear result! ((jks))

This has been my experience as well. However, I talked to a friend who is a radiologist, and he said that because of COVID, many procedures were postponed and are only now being done. This is causing a backup.
This may be the case for you as well. I hope you will get good news soon.

I'm sure it will all be okay. This is so common. My advice to you moving foward is to find a place that will read the mammo/sono right then and there. My place does that. I would be a nervous wreck if I had to wait for a phone call.

PS. Sorry, I just read what others said and it seems I repeated the same advice. Find a place that reads the results right while you're there.

On to biopsy

I finally got my phone call and it was not good. I have to go for a needle biopsy. The first appt. was for Mar. 14 ( Dr. on vacation), but I asked if they could find another and they did. Tomorrow at 2:45. PLEASE SEND GOOD THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!!!

Thank you all so much for your advice and good spirits. It really did help. Today I went out and painted my fence, something I had put off since last summer!

Prayers for skilled doctors and comfort for your stress.
I am glad you were able to move the appointment and keep yourself busy. Sometimes it helps.
Deep breaths.
More prayers and thoughts tomorrow.

thinking of you as you navigate this worrisome time. It's fortunate that you're able to get the needle biopsy tomorrow so your wait time will be shorter. Sending you good vibes for the best outcome. We're thinking about you.

((jks)) I remember going through this exact scenario two separate times and both procedures ended with a benign diagnosis. I finally did insist on the docs going in and removing what was there in order to ensure a proper diagnosis. Many friends advised me not to worry until told what the situation actually is . Easy to say and hard to do I know . Stay busy and distract yourself. ((jks))
