End of the Year gifts?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm looking for something new this year ...

I had planned to do a DVD for my kids, but that did not work out! I've done the beachball thing ... "I've had a ball in first grade!" and everyone sign. I like that, but am curious to see something new!

Thanks for your ideas!

I can't remember where I purchased them ... probably Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart. But, I did get the ordinary beach balls - no characters (ex. Spiderman). With a Sharpie, I wrote "I had a ball in first grade." Then, all students signed the ball with a sharpie also. I have done it two ways .. One year, I blew each ball up before signing. Last year, I let them blow it up. It was easier to let them blow it up! Blowing up 19 beach balls can get tiring!

Autographed flying disks

For the past couple of years I've had my students pass around their Frisbees (Flying Disks, in generic terms ) to sign with permanent markers. I've preferred those because beach balls can easily become punctured. (I got them at Dollar Tree.)

Also, on the last day of school I buy plastic tumblers and make them ice cream floats with vanilla ice cream and root beer, orange or Coke. A couple of years ago, some students asked their friends to autograph their tumblers and so we've continued to do that, each end of year as well. (I always let them know that after a few washings the marker will wash off, but they insist of them, regardless. )

Catchy/Cute phrase for frisbee?

I like the idea about the frisbee ... is there a phrase to go with it? (Beach ball - "We had a BALL in __ Grade")

Thanks for the ideas everyone! I'm not sure which I'll do, but I had better be deciding! 8 days of school left!

I didn't use any kind of catch phrase, but maybe you can use something like
"Flying On To __ Grade!"

Others might come up with a phrase or two, as well.

I love the phrase ... "Flying on to ___ grade!" But, what if not everyone is passing. I have 3 being retained! Uh-oh!
