For some reason our school is just now jumping on the cscope bandwagon. Our new curriculum director says we are doing Cscope in all subject areas next year. Then the state says all Cscope lesson plans are not to be used. Our CD says we are still to follow the Cscope scope and sequence. HUH? I don't understand why! Are any of you still using parts of Cscope? Please help!

Wow, what state do you live in?

I'm in Texas and we were told to get rid of all of it. We haven't been told what we are going to use next year yet.

In our district, several teachers will be in charge of curriculum writing during the summer.

I am in Texas in a small rural school. I know everyone else is getting rid of Cscope and our school is just now starting it. We are not to use the lessons, just the scope and sequence. Whatever that means!!!

The scope and sequence is like the timeline. Doesn't Cscope own the rights to the Scope and Sequence? Ask your P. because they could sue if you are using components of their copyrighted material.

Our district has us use the scope and sequence and the assessments. The lessons are being pulled so we will follow the SS and create our own lessons.

We also will have to continue to use Cscope. We will use the scope and sequence mostly. Our district wants to be able to track progress by using assessment results with DMAC. Don't know how this is going to work. The CSCOPE assessments didn't always match their own lessons in the first place. If we still do the assessments but do our own lessons, I think it will match up even less! But We are going to muddle through the year and see how it goes. Lots of luck to you!

We have been using it the past three years. Next year, we will use LA, Science and SS. For math we are switching to Investigations. Our principal told us that the lessons will be taken off August 31st and we will only be using the scope and sequence. I teach kinder, but I do believe the upper grades will continue to use cscope for math. It will be an interesting year...
