Isn't it funny how that happens? And since you live in a small-ish place, these lucky girls will be together in classes, on teams, EVERYWHERE, sharing their name. Such fun!

Wow, I can't believe some of these! My worst was one year when I had 2 Alyssa H's, and an Elissa.

This year I just have 2 Claires.

Five Isaacs this year.

I had the "eye" sound names one year and it was crazy. Sarai, Kai, Tye, Malakai, and Kyle.

Funny how they go in cycles!

Two years ago my team had SIX Jordans - three girls and three boys. The math teacher on our team started calling some of them by their initials, and I know for J.T., it stuck and that's what he told his teachers the next year to call him.

Kind of not the same, but kind of the same:

Last year was the first time in 29 years that I DIDN'T have a duplicate name!

I can't believe I don't have ANY duplicate names this year! 30 students and none of them are even close to the same! Crazy!

I am not back in school yet, so I don't know what this year will bring.

But-- I work in an Islamic school, and always have at least a few repeat names with my girls.

The worst part, though, is almost ALL of my students' last names start with Al---.

Last year I had 18 students, and 15 last names started with Al--. It made alphabetizing such a pain!

I had an Ali (not like Ally, but Ah-lee), an Ollie, and a Waleed. (Ollie, Waleed, Doodle all the day!).

I didn't realize until school started that Ali and Ollie sound the same - because I was just reading them, and I'm very visual, they look different. I figured it out when Ali kept looking at me when I was calling Ollie. Duh.

This coming year (I haven't started yet) I will have 3 girls named Reece - all spelled the same.

Last year I only had 7 girls (and 18 boys!) and two were named Alyssa. Good heavens.
