This afternoon I finished packing up my room, and handed in my key and ID. Last night was a nice dinner, where our P serenaded us with parodies of “good bye” songs and we enjoyed fellowship and fun!
It is still sinking in that I am officially retired! Now it’s time to pack up our apartment, and a week from tomorrow we head home for our new adventure as retirees! (Well, new to me, DH has been retired for 3 years, but not at our home.)
The first thing I did was turn off my 5am alarm. Endless summer, here I come!
Congratulations! I thought I would miss teaching. .. .nope, not really. I was surprised actually.
Even though I tutor, I only do that 2 mornings a week and because I CHOOSE to do it for the extra money for travel. (I did tell the principal I can't come in until 9:00 though.)
Congratulations! If you think you are happy now, just wait until August and September! When everyone is getting ready for a new school year, and you are reading a book at the beach, or wherever you are happiest, then you will see how good retirement can be!
Yay! Welcome and do come back often to this page. I took awhile to get used to not having so many demands and I did miss the kids.....but all things considered, retirement is SWEET! You worked hard and you deserve a wonderful, wonderful retirement.
