Mulitplication chants

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Does anyone have some fun multiplication chants that you would like to share? My daughter is having a hard time remembering the 4's, 7's and 6's. Please let me know!!! She does really good with little chants or songs to remember. Like she knows 4x8=32 we still have a lot of work to do! That is one example!

has great multiplication chants that emphasize skip counting to remember the facts. Google Mortensen math....

rockingthestandards.com has so many cute songs to help with "all things math." If you google it, you will get some video performances on youtube....
I used to have "cool" music to learn academic concepts when I was younger...it was called "Schoolhouse Rock".....who can forget "Conjunction Junction" "Interjections' & "How a Bill Becomes a Law".
Oh, those were the days!

Thanks for the question and some places to go. Some students just need something to fall back on to cement the facts into memory.

See if this helps.

Definitely the old Schoolhouse Rock songs! When DS was learning multiplication tables, I played them in the car constantly.

schoolhouserock.tv has them as CDs, DVDs, iTunes, and lyrics

skip counting songs

I have always done skip counting songs, my students love them and really memorize the information.
3- Jingle Bells
4- Row, Row, Row your boat
5-Happy Birthday
6-Deck the Halls
7- This Old Man
8- The Barney song
9- Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (my students made this one up)

The songs 3-8 were developed by another teacher. I can't remember where I found them on internet or I would give the creator credit!
